Hello,
I am looking for a photo of the Italian Battleship "Vittorio Veneto" pre war to 1941 to use on my site for the Battle of Matapan. Inadvertently had the wrong photo up but can't find a decent one of VV to replace it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Spruso

Spruso,

I guess you know this site.

Are these photos OK?

Thanks Terry,
Just what I was looking for. Do you know the year of the 1st photo on the left. Looks like it may have been on trials.
Cheers

I have no other details my friend - but looking at her she does exude a sort of fresh newness!

She'll be doing her speed trials no doubt - full power running light. Without the main and secondary armament revolving structures fitted to the superstructure she'd have rung up a good speed, which seems to have pre-occupied the Regia Marina rather a lot. I have a picture of a member of the last Italian battleship class in a similar condition.

Always the same with Italian machinery. Speed is always first - whereas build quality is often way down the list!

They seem to have built Schumaker's car all right, or was it that he was such a darned good driver?

Well firstly the engine of the F1 Ferrari obviously had the speed and of course the build quality only had to ensure that it lasted for a race!
Schumaker IMO was/is the best racing driver ever bar none...
