Well done for posting this Bob.

I for one gladly signed.

I know that various Brit Govts have argued that as the cost of living is low for the Gurkha's, to give them the same entitlements as a Brit. soldier is inappropriate.

But they fail to properly pay the Gurkha's who are residing in the UK.

Personally, I don't think they can do enough for these remarkable men who have served with such devotion and valour.

Reading Gurkha VC citations should convince anyone if they need convincing.

Signed with pleasure Bob. I make no apologies when I say that loyal servants of the Crown as the Gurkha`s have always been, should jump to the top of any list of people applying for UK residency...

I recall one citation, which I share.

It was during WW2. The Gurkhas were well dug in (somewhere in Burma but I'm not sure). The Japs kept storming their position all night,attacking and throwing grenades.

Next morning after Stand-To, the forward dugout was still being held by a solitary Gurkha. Around him were 15 dead Japs and he had lost a hand throwing a grenade back. He met his officer with a wide grin.

I too have gladly signed the petition.... there should be NO question of these great people having to beg for recognition!! especially when the Govt knows only too well the British population's feelings for them.
