Stoker's Son: A very nice collection. This class is officially referred to as being Maritime Coastal Defence Vessels as they spend the majority of their time on coastal patrols and training missions. Mine warfare, hunting and sweeping, is another task. This involves use of ROVs, sidescan sonars and traditional sweep equipment. They are rather slow ships with a maximum speed of about 15 knots, they have proven to be very useful ships that are crewed mainly by reservists on full time contract.

John: The Fundy Class HMCS Nootka (J35) was renamed HMCS Nanoose (J35) as the name Nootka was required for the new Halifax built Tribal Class destroyer that was completed in August 1946.
