Sorting through some old photos of mine I came across these...

They were taken in The Gambia in 1991 and I post them just as a reminder of those who died in the more obscure parts of the Empire.

The little guy is the man responsible for the upkeep of the cemetery and tending the graves. I have to say that he did a grand job.

Is this one a Commonwealth War Graves cemetery?

Every one I've visited around the world - and that's many - have been immaculate even under trying conditions.

It is a CWG cemetery in a place called Fajarah.

I agree that the CWGC do a great job with the cemeteries.

One can always tell a CWGC Cemetary by it's unique Cross of Sacrifice, with it's great black sword seemingly embedded in the Cross-usually the centre piece of the Cemetary.
