View Full Version : New hand on deck
To introduce myself (some will no doubt be shipmates of mine on other forums) ...
I am a lifelong civilian with very poor sea legs, but also a keen biographer of naval, military and air force types.
My only naval ancestor was my great-uncle, who attained the rank of Ensign in the Imperial and Royal Austro-Hungarian Navy - hence the avatar.
Trust I can be of some use over time. :)

Welcome to the forum William.
Wwe are sadly in need of posts in the Austro-Hungarian section so I hope you will be the catalyst for the solution to this problem.

Welcome to the forum William. Good to have you aboard!
Welcome to the forum, William.
I am very impressed with your avator, and would like to know what it is. The Austro-Hungarian naval ensign or the Austro-Hungarian flag perhaps. The other interest is the coastline of the Austro-Hungarian empire, the Baltic, North sea, the Med. as all navies need a coastline. (excluding the Swiss with the America's Cup!)

Hi gents..I'm Big Daddy Popeye. Some of you may know me from other forums. I served with the USN for 20 years. All on carriers and Naval Air Stations.
Most anything you want to know about carriers or the USN I can find out or have an answer for you!
Happy to have found this forum:)
