Darwin was deployed to East Timor (Timor-Leste) in 1999 and was also involved in operations in the Solomon Islands in 2001.
During 2007 she was at Cockatoo Island undergoing a major refit according to the The FFG Upgrade program. This was devised to ensure a credible level of area defence and capability against modern sea skimming ship missiles, for existing and emerging threats.
The second picture is taken aboard Darwin whilst intercepting an Iraqi ship in the Gulf.
