Just thought members would be interested to see this ship with a distinctive camouflage pattern, almost a throw back to WW2 camouflage patterns. This is an Indonesian corvette, KRI Memet Sastrawaria, seen last year patrolling off the north coast of Sumatra.

You do come up with interesting, comtemporary ship photographs huck.
Just to let you know they are very much appreciated. Thank you.
What was she - on Pirate watch?

I'm presuming she was on a anti-piracy / terrorist patrol as Indonesia, Malaya & Singapore have agreed to police the waters around the Mallacca Straits.

That was my very point my friend. The Mallacca Straits are one of the most active areas for piracy in recent years...

There is a post here somewhere explaining how cruise ships are armed to the teeth because of this threat.

And in Greek, Mallaca is an insulting word. Very!

Just thought members would be interested to see this ship with a distinctive camouflage pattern, almost a throw back to WW2 camouflage patterns.

Surely in WW2 Dazzle Paint was being used not to conceal, but rather with the deliberate intention of confusing submarines that were already tracking their intended prey through their periscopes - in order to make it more difficult to estimate the target's actual course and speed. Camouflage Paint on the other hand has a very different purpose (i.e. as a disguise in order to make the ship less easy to spot by a visual observer by reducing her silhouette) - especially useful for small fast moving naval craft operating in coastal waters.

Anyway, it was indeed an interesting picture and anything that helps them in their efforts to tackle the scurge of modern day piracy has got to be a good thing.
