The 40-year-old ocean liner the QE2 has docked at Garden Island in Sydney for the last time.
The Cunard ship, launched at Clydebank in Scotland by Britain's Queen Elizabeth in 1967, entered Sydney harbour at dawn on Sunday and berthed at 7am (AEDT).
The QE2 joins her sister ship, the massive new Queen Victoria, which is already docked at the overseas passenger terminal at Circular Quay.
It is the QE2's last visit to Australia, 30 years to the day since her 1978 maiden visit to Sydney.
The two Cunard liners will make a historic passing of each other on either side of Fort Denison in Sydney Harbour about 6.30pm (AEDT), as the Queen Victoria departs Sydney for Brisbane and the QE2 moves to berth at Circular Quay.
Sydneysiders are already gathering around the harbour foreshore, with the queens expected to draw thousands of onlookers throughout the day.
The QE2 will be decommissioned in November.
