View Full Version : WWI Esploratore Leggero: Seeking Information
Hi,
I would like to have more information about the Esploratore Leggero "Cesare Rossariol". I known already where and when she ended (1918 in front of Ližnjan, Croatia), but I'm lacking of further previous information.
Thank you

thank you blaydon,
very interesting the info about the spanish navy. But, what I meant with previous was the her history in the war, before it was struck by the mine. In the meantime I found it at the italian wiki. http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cesare_Rossarol_(esploratore_1915)
The sunk place is not off Merlera, or not exactly. The Cesare lays in two pieces off the coast of Ližnjan/Lisignano, north-east from Merlera.
I found interesting that in no photo I saw of the Cesare could I find a big telemeter at the back, installed in a kind of platform, that I see at the wreck. It must be a modification. The guns were changed in 1918, maybe at that moment was installed the telemeter. You can see there also one gun. The other part, the bow, impress for the quantity of ammunition laying in the hull.

I found out that links ending with an ")" are not taken right by the system. The link in my last comment was not functioning. Here the link edited by hand:
