From 14 to 19 November 1949, the Dido class cruiser HMNZS Bellona and five of the six RNZN Loch class frigates, Kaniere, Pukaki, Rotoiti, Tutira and Taupo, were all in Hobart together. Taupo was Flotilla Leader and Kaniere was Deputy Flotilla Leader. The pictures show Kaniere with Tutira outboard and Taupo at opposite wharf (with nio pennant no. on stern). The same trio with Bellona in the background and the third picture shows Pukaki with Rotoiti opposite. The only one missing is Hawea which was in refit at Auckland. It is doubtful that this representation of RNZN ships was ever together again in any port outside of Auckland.
