Recent reports show the arrival of the A220M 57mm gun for smaller ships, missile boats etc. The Russian have used this caliber since the thirties especially for early anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons.
This weapon started off on the drawing boards in 1967 and is only now appearing in a much modified turret mount.
The unit weighs 7135kg without ammo and cooling system and can fire at a theoretical rate of 300 rpm.
