Hello all. I am seeking any information on this ship which was lost in WW2. As I understand it she was a Free French ship but seems to have been used and crewed by the British but am not sure about this last.
I would especially like to find a photo of the ship especially wartime if possible.
Can anyone assist please?

No such ship is listed in the index of Conway's All the World's Fighting Ships 1922-1945, which is a pretty comprehensive volume. What kind of vessel was it?

RCNSailor, welcome to our forum, I'm assuming the ship you refer to is SS Ville De Tamatave, she was captured by Hms Dunedin in July 1941 and requistioned by the Ministry of War Transport.
She was lost in 1943 when en-route to New York, as a result of her rudder breaking.
Not the best of photo's but the only one I have, hope it is of use to you.
Regards
Alan

A belated thank you alan. I have the picture you posted but am unsure if it is the wartime Ville de Tamatave. Do you think it is?
