View Full Version : HMCS Nipigon in Drydock
in 1993 HMCS Nipigon was scheduled for a refit. Shortly after completion and returning to the fleet, she was withdrawn to make room for the new Halifax class frigates which were being delivered more quickly than anticipated.

A great set of photographs which are really appreciated. :)
Thank you Terry.
I thought it might be something a little different.

I wonder if that was when she had her 7 bladed screws fitted. I remember ANNAPOLIS received hers in '90.
These are fantastic!!! Thanks for posting!!! Darren

Nice pics. She went offline in 1998...that's not a short time. She spent most of her last years in the Carrib doing ASW testing.
There is a Facebook page for the Nipigon crew.

Blackfly:
I assume the seven bladed propellers were intended to reduce ship's noise. Were they successful?
