Next 3 are of U-995 at the Laboe Naval Memorial in Germany taken in 1995

When I was in Kiel on the Yarmouth in 1974 several of us did a tour of U995 and we were most impressed!

The living conditions on board the WW2 sub were better than those on our (then) modern "O" Boats!

I'm 6ft2 and built like a brick outhouse so getting around a VIIC/41 like U-995 wasn't easy.... had a few lumps on my head before getting outside again.

I can vaguely remember having a tour through an 'O' boat in Aberdeen back in the 1970's when I was 7 or 8 and I felt cramped even then !!!
