Thanks for the work Jainso, I have always admired Captain Broome's sense of humour and had a quick "dekko" at the "Wiki" link. He was clearly no "Yes Man" but despite that seems to have had a very good career, a lot of which came relatively late in time.

Many thanks for your interest GK- butaccording to one account I read- anyone connected to the execution of the order "Convoy to Scatter"had his card marked by Sir Dudley Pound; but I suppose after he died-The "vendetta" died with him.:D
