I am a Yank ex-submariner with an interesting piece of old art that is clearly British. I have what looks like a fire screen but maybe it is actually something else. It is clearly carved and very beautiful and depicts the HMS Sunfish logo for the submarine Sunfish. It has the sunfish logo clearly and beautifully displayed and has feet made in the shape of dolphin. My wife and I found it in an antique store in South Carolina and for an old submariner, the dolphin feet hooked me immediately!

I am looking for information that anyone might have as to its origin or history realizing that finding anyone that knows anything may not be with us anymore. :(

PS - Any HMS Dreadnought sailors out there?? I got a tour of your boat in 1971 in Scotland and some of you visited mine. (USS Greenling, SSN-614)

Greg, you are very welcome here. You will find others from your country here and quite a decent number of threads to do with US warships.

Perhaps a pic of your find? I for one would like to see it.

Greg, see my post in the Russian ships section on the Russian submarine V-1 on your behalf.

Welcome to the forum and here is a pic of the logo you mentioned, together with a photo of your ship USS Greenling.

I do need some assistance setting up the avatar. Never done that. I would like to use the patch with the phrase "Steel True and Blade Straight". I tried to attach it and the pic of the fire screen but don't think I have figured out quite how to do so.

I appreciate the assistance!
