HMS ASSISTANCE, a repair ship purchased in September 1900 by the Royal Navy whilst being built by Raylton Dixon in Middlesbrough. She was fitted as a floating workshop and water-distilling ship, and served in various parts of the world until 1930 when she was placed in reserve, and finally went to be scrapped at Pembroke Dock in 1937.
