News and launched on the 6th February 1909 and commissioned into the US
Navy on the 4th April 1910. The Delaware designed was completed in 1905 -
1906, and two versions were shown a 10 gun version and a larger 12 - gun version.
The larger version was rejected due to cost for the extra firepower it
provided. The USS Delaware was the first US Battleship able to steam
for 24 hours at full speed without needing repairs. and she reached 21.86
knots on her trials. During the Great war she was attached to the Royal
navies British Grand Fleet at the end of November 1917. Decommissioned in November
1923 and sold for scrapping on the 5th February 1924.

20,140 tons normal and 22, 060 tons full load. Sped: 231
knots, Range 6,000 Nautical Miles at 10 knots. Compliment: 933
