WILL F WHELPDALE... I have
been researching to do a family free on the Whelpdales and I have in my
possession a copy of a letter sent by my Uncle Will F. Whelpdale, dated
January 3l, 1916 from aboard the H.M.S. Euryalus, in it he states:
"We have left Malta and we are at another place more further east and
we shall not be coming home for a few months at least, as we have got
operations to do here now."I have another letter dated May 5, 1918
from aboard the H.M.S. Tuberose, he writes: "Well Dear Mother
we are having very nice weather out here, but it is a bit hot, and we are
pretty busy out here as we have plenty of running to
do, as I expect we shall until this war is over, but we might be coming
home later on for a refit, as we expect too within a few months."
I have tried to find information on the H.M.S. Tuberose but cannot find
the ship listed, would appreciate any information. Thank you,
Shirley Mesheau
