Crew of HMS Hollyhock
(We think this photo is from this HMS Hollyhock rather
than the earlier Acacia class sloop HMS Hollyhock, but not 100%
certain. The fact this photo was taken in Hong Kong is probably
the biggest clue, with this HMS Hollyhock certainly spending some time
in that region.)

HMS GARDENIA.
JOHN O'CONNELL.. John O'Connell was the
ship's carpenter on the Niceto de Larrinaga, which was sunk by U103 on
22nd September 1941 near the Canary Islands. He was taken from the
sea aboard the HMS Gardenia, and died shortly afterwards, and was buried
at sea. I would like to contact anyone from HMS Gardenia that may
know anything of this. John O'Connell was my mother's brother. Contact
Here
HMS GENTIAN.
EDWARD (TED) ATTRELL.. My
father in law Edward (Ted) Attrell (from Brighton) passed away in April
2003, having told the family only at the end of his life of his full
naval service, and service on the North Atlantic Convoys. We are
trying to find out more about his service, so we can apply for his
medals. Can anyone advise where to go to get crew lists from these
times, and voyage records if they exist? Are any of his shipmates
still alive? (He went into the navy underage) Contact
here
My father served on HMS Gentian and I have been unable
to find any pictures of her at all. If anyone has any pictures or
leads as to where I may find some that would be gratefully
received. Paul.folkes2@ntlworld.com
HMS KINGCUP K33..
My late father
served on HMS Kingcup. I would dearly like to have a photo of her or any
other information that anyone might have. All I have is a photo of him
in uniform. Contact me at tuckley.10@virgin.net
