Naval history of the Conflict Class destroyers
HMS Wizard, HMS Conflict and HMS Teazer. Built in 1894 and HMS Wizard and
HMS Conflict saw service during World War One.
Built by White. Constructed in the same
manner but HMS Wizard was reconstructed with two funnels in 1910, she was
also fitted with in-turning screws the only destroyer so fitted. HMS Zebra
could be classed in this class although it was built by Thames Ironworks
and was only 310 tons.
Displacement: 320 tons. Length: 200 ft.
Breadth: 20 ft Depth: 8.2 ft. Horse
power: 4,500. Speed: 27 knots. Armament: one
12 pdr gun and two torpedo tubes. Complement: 53.
