German Light
Cruiser Coln or Koln. was built by Germaniawerft at Kiel. and laid
down o in 1908 As part of the 1906 - 1907 German naval building
programme . Launched on5th June 1909 and completed 16th June 1911.
at the outbreak of World war while on patrol she was sunk by British
Battlecruisers in the North sea on the 28th August 1914 along with
her sister ship Maine.
Displacement: 4362 tons and 4915 deep
load. Speed; 26 knots, Range: 3500 Miles at 14
Knots Compliment: 367 Armament: Twelve 4.1 inch
guns (10.5cm) Two 17.7 inch (45cm) Torpedo Tubes (submerged in
the beam) and 100 mines.
