Claymore Class French destroyers, Stylet, Tromblon, Pierrier, Obusier, Mortier, Claymore, Carquois, Trident, Fleuret, Coutelas, Cognee, Hache, Massue.  The the Claymore Class destroyers were built at Rochefort Dockyard except, Cognee, Hache and Massue which were built at Toulon Dockyard. They featured the new 17 - inch torpedo, which made the destroyer top heavy, so to reduce weight the closed bridge was replaced with a open bridge.   The Pierrier was fitted with a new experimental 4 cylinder Delauny-Belleville engine, but came into service too late. (November 1910) and was not a success. and the engine was replaced with a similar 3 cylinder engines as the other claymore's.  In fact the Claymore class were not a success.
