The Buzzard Class SMS Bussard, SMS Falke, SMS Seeadler, SMS Condor, SMS Cormoran, and SMS Geier. The Buzzard class of Wooden sheathed Light Cruisers were built for colonial service. and were all re built on several occasions between 1898 and 1909 (except for Falke and Condor. ) 

Bussard 23rd January 1890 Stricken on 25th October 1912.
Falke 4th April 1891 Stricken on 25th October 1912.
Seeadler 2nd February 1892 Hulked in 1914 and then sunk on 19th April 1917.
Condor 23rd February 1992 Stricken on 18th November 1920.
Cormoran 17th May 1892 Scuttled on 28th September 1914.
Geier 18th October 1894 Captured by the US Navy in 1917 and then sunk on 21st June 1918.

Bussard

Bussard.  Built by Danzig Dockyard and laid down in 1888 launched 23rd January 1890 and completed 7th October 1890.  This fourth class cruiser.   During the various modifications to the ship at refit The Buzzarsd received enlarged bridge and also and re rigged at top sail schooners.  Stricken  on the 25th October 1912 and broken up in 1913.

Displacement: 1838 tons, Speed 15.5 knots. compliment 161  Armament: Eight 105mm, guns,  

Falke

Falke.

Falke. Built at Kiel Dockyard and laid down in 1890 launched 4th April 1891 and completed 14th September 1891.  was not modified compared to the others of the class. finally  stricken on the 25th October 1912 and broken up in 1913.

Displacement: 1838 tons, Speed 15.5 knots. compliment 161  Armament: Eight 105mm, guns, Five rev cannon, and two 350mm Torpedo Tubes.

Seeadler

Seeadler. (was launched under the name of Kaiseradler but name changed soon after)  Built at Danzig Dockyard and laid down in 1890, launched 2nd February 1892 and completed on 17th august 1892. In 1914 she was Hulked in at Jade Germany but she sank after an internal explosion  on the 19th April 1917  while she was being used as a storage for Mines.

Displacement: 1834 tons, Speed 15.5 knots. compliment 161  Armament: Eight 105mm, guns, Five rev cannon, and two 350mm Torpedo Tubes.

Condor

Condor  Built by Blohm and Voss and paid down in 1891 launched 23rd February 1892 and completed 9th December 1892.  did not have major refit work done to her. and was decommissioned and Hulked in 1914 and used as a Mine Storage Ship at Jade and finally broken up in 1921

Displacement: 1834 tons, Speed 15.5 knots. compliment 161  Armament: Eight 105mm, guns, Five rev cannon, and two 350mm Torpedo Tubes.

Cormoran

Cormoran by at Danzig dockyard and laid down in 1890 launched 17th May 1892 and completed 25th July 1893. was at Tsingtao when world war one broke out.  and was scuttled on the 28th September 1914. 

Displacement: 1834 tons, Speed 15.5 knots. compliment 161  Armament: Eight 105mm, guns, Five rev cannon, and two 350mm Torpedo Tubes.

Geier

Geier  Built at Wilhelmshaven and laid down in 1893 launched 18th October 1894 and completed 24th October 1895.    she was interned at Honolulu and interned by the US Navy in 1917 and commissioned into the US Navy as a Gunboat named Carl Schurz but on the 21 June 1918 she sank after a collision.

Displacement: 1888 tons,  Speed 15.5 knots.  compliment 161   Armament:  450mm Torpedo Tubes.
