The last class to be designed and built before the outbreak of world war two.  A development of the Sims class.  

Displacement: 2395 tons,  Speed: 35 knots  Range: 6,500 nm. at 12 knots. Armament: Five 5 inch guns. Six  .5 inch,  Ten 21-inch Torpedo Tubes.  Crew: 208  / 250

(DD421) USS Benson 15th November 1939 Sold to Taiwan  (Lo Yang) on 26th February 1954. Scrapped after 1975.
(DD422) USS Mayo 26th March 1940 Scrapped after 1970.
(DD423) USS Gleaves 9th December 1939 Decommissioned in 1969 and preserved.
(DD424) USS Niblack 18th May 1940 Scrapped after 1968.

(DD426) USS Lansdale 20th October 1939 Sunk on 20th April 1944.
