The Russian Submarine
Bars Class. Largest class of Russian Submarines
built for the Imperial navy. Slightly larger version of the Morzh Class submarines. They
were ordered as part of the Naval programme of 1912. Twelve were ordered
for the Baltic Fleet and Six were ordered for the Siberian Flotilla
(transferring to the Baltic Flotilla in March 1915.)
Displacement: 650 tons / 780
tons. Speed: 13 Knots. surface, 10 knots submerged.
Crew 33 Armament: One 63,, and one 37mm Four 18
- inch torpedo Tubes, 8 Drzewiecki drop collar torpedoes.
Notes: Forel and Ugor were
converted to minelayers, holding 21 mines in each of two torpedo
tubes
