Destroyer histories. Royal naval B class destroyers. Destroyer website dedicated to the history of HMS Keith, HMS Basilisk, HMS Blanche, HMS Boadicea, HMS Boreas, HMS Brazen, HMS Brilliant and HMS Bulldog from their launch to their participation in major wars also notice board for families of ex-crew of B Class destroyers.

HMS BULLDOG.   Built by Swan Huner and Wallsend and launched 6th December 1930. Bulldog served in the Mediterranean and east Indies to 1940 then joining Home Waters mostly in the western Approaches. HMS Bulldog had Hedgehogg mounted instead of one of her guns and in the forward area of the ship she had a 2 pounder mounted to engage E - boats.  She survived the war and was scrapped at Rosyth March 1946

Displacement: 1360 tons. standard and up to 1815 tons deep load.  Speed: 35knnots,  Compliment: 138  Armament: Four 4.7 inch guns  and two 2 pounder pompoms Eight 21 inch Torpedo Tubes in two sets of four.

HMS Blanche  H.47 29th May 1930 Sunk 13th November 1939.
HMS Boadicea   H.65 23rd September 1930 Sunk 13th June 1944.
HMS Boreas    H.77 18th July 1930 Sold to Greece 1944.
HMS Brazen  H.80 25th July 1930 Sunk 20th July 1940.
HMS Beagle H.30 29th September 1930  Scrapped at Rosyth June 1946
HMS Brilliant   H.84 9th October 1930 Broken up 1947.
HMS Bulldog   H.91 6th December 1930 Broken up 1946.
HMS Keith   H.06 10th July 1930 Sunk 1st June 1940.

HAROLD ASLING... Hi, I am looking for anyone who served with my father on the bulldog during the last 3 years of the war, his name is Harold Asling, he was able seaman 1st class and was a gunner, he was decorated for saving a sailors life in the Indian Ocean, he was born in Brixton, I hope you can help as I'm making up a gift for my fathers birthday and I know the navy was a huge part of his like, regards Linda Fox.   Greenedeyedfox15@aol.com

..   A letter recently came into my possession, it is dated the 6th July 1938 and is addressed to R Trevail Mess 2  HMS Bulldog  c/o GPO London. ALLAN CAVERS... I am looking for anyone who was aboard HMS Bulldog when she captured U110 on May 9th 1941. In particular anyone who knew Lt Allan Cavers who spent at least 3½ years aboard the Bulldog from January 1938. If you have any information contact Glenn at eloasis@earthlink.net
