FRANCIS E "DUSTY" MILLER.. I'm looking for anyone who would remember my father.  I want to know all there is to know about the experiences on the Arky.  I have a few of his war diaries but I'd love to hear personal experiences.  I have some pictures of shore leave in Hawaii I believe, my father was with his best friend Joe and they were wearing fake beards and moustaches.  Any info would be well appreciated.  Contact Here

WILLIAM L. MERSON.  My father, William L. Merson served on the USS Arkansas from 1942 until sometime in 1945.  I do not have his service record ( he died in 1970 when I was 16 ).  Some time in 1945 he transferred to the USS Idaho.  I am trying to find his service dates ...when he was on the Arky...when he transferred to the Idaho etc..   Any information would be appreciated.   Bill Merson  Billfd626@aol.com

My father served on the USS Arkansas during WW II. He had a photograph of the ship while docked with the entire crew posed in front of it. It was recently lost or stolen during a move to a new house. I believe the photograph was taken while docked in San Francisco about 1943 although I do not know this for a fact. It apparently is not part of an official Navy photo archive. Any help in locating a copy of this photograph would be greatly appreciated by my father. You can contact me at the following email  lp2rn@bellsouth.net

DONALD B BRIGGS.. My uncle was on the Arkansas for nearly 10 years. He lives near me in Sarasota, Florida and I am trying to find someone in the area who might have been on the ship with him. I want to buy him a hat but don't know what is proper to have on it. Any help, contact me at BBarker101@aol.com

USS ARKANSAS... DOCUMENTARY.. Greetings from Belfast. I am looking for all crew or families of crew who served on the USS Arkansas in 1944 when it took part in the invasion of Normandy. USS Arkansas was based at Bangor, Northern Ireland before D-Day and was inspected along with battleships USS Texas and USS Nevada by General Eisenhower on 19th May 1944. Does anybody remember this very special day?  My name is Brian Martin, I work for Double Band films and we are making a landmark documentary for BBC Ireland, celebrating and commemorating the US servicemen who were based in Northern Ireland and who served on D-Day and the subsequent months in the invasion of France.  If you or a family member served on USS Arkansas and have a story to tell about being based in Ireland and memories of serving on D-Day, please contact me at bhmartin@doublebandfilms.com
