Patrick D'Agostino

"I was born at Pieta, Malta as it was a British base and end at 1979 then when I was 25 in 1986 I start to interesting in navy and collect things about World Navy.  I learn how I will be a naval photographer.  I learn the computer alone and now after the 35mm negatives I am with digital camera.  I took old and new warships that I never see before and now I am very happy with my work and also I thanks the Cranston Fine Arts and battleships-cruisers.co.uk to show my work.  And also I thanks my best friends in Malta to tell me the information when they are coming and leaving Grand Harbour Malta so I will be there to do my work.  Thanks for all. Patrick"

Cranston Fine Arts and battleships-cruisers.co.uk would like to thank Patrick for his great photos of ships from around the world at Malta from 1986 to the present day.  They are a great addition to the site.

Alex Lakatos

On „expedition” in the Danube-delta.

"I was born in Germany in 1979, but since 1985 I live in Hungary. I am interested in any kind of warfare since I left elementary school, especially WW2, not only in the technological aspects, but also the history. It’s good to know, why one part lost a battle, not only when and how. I was always fascinated from that beautiful warships in WW2. I’m also a quite good photographer, but I refuse to work with digital cameras. I don’t really like, that some machine tell me, what I have to do, and how I have to do this. "

Battleships-cruisers.co.uk and Cranston Fine Arts would like to thank Alex for his contribution to our site, including the identification of several ships and histories of ships for our Austro - Hungarian Navy section and others.

Dmitry Lemachko

The Lemachko Collection was built up by Dmitry's father Boris Lemachko over 50 years ago from original photographs and original photo postcards, and represents one of the major Russian collections available.  Cranston Fine Arts and battleships-cruisers.co.uk have arranged for copies to be made available under copyright license.

George Mortimore

"I was born in Ryde long before the advent of digital photography (or digital anything else) and was sent to sea (not unwillingly) at the age of 16. I served my apprenticeship with BP Tankers and joined the RFA in 1956, my first ship being RFA Robert Dundas. I progressed through the ranks and was promoted to Chief Officer of RFA Dewdale  in 1973 After serving in all classes of RFA in most parts of the world including the Falklands conflict, I retired in 1990 at the age of 58.   I spent the next seven years as Tourist Information Officer with the IOW Council - working in the summers and holidaying abroad in the winters.   I finally retired in 1997 and took up golf and computing, both of which I find infuriating but challenging."

Cranston Fine Arts and battleships-cruisers.co.uk would like to Thank George for the superb 350 Naval photographs of various ships and helicopters from the 1970s to 1990s.
